Zero configuration

Just download the lightweight install** and run it. The first time you run Hybir Backup you will be asked for your username and password. That is it. Hybir Backup automatically chooses your C: drive and a time at night to backup your PC. You are of course in full control and can select additional drives, a different backup time, or choose to backup manually anytime you want.

Unbelievable Performance

Hybir Backup leverages all the data it has ever backed up for everyone. That means your backups happen in record time. In fact if you want to backup data that we already have like windows XP, many other Windows Operating Systems, programs, and media files you can backup gigabytes of data by just sending a fraction of a percent of the data (about 0.007%). Other data we don't already have like your private photos are compressed and sent once. You will never have to upload them again.

How fast is Hybir Backup?

The speed of Hybir Backup depends on many factors. The speed of your hard drive(s), cpu, memory, and internet connection all have a say in the performance of Hybir Backup. The amount of data we don't already have backed up also plays a significant role. So, how fast is Hybir Backup? We ran some tests to find out. On a clean install of windows XP SP3, the first full backup completed in little more than one minute. After the first backup it took as little as six seconds to perform a full backup. On a state of the art developer machine loaded with 50GB of stuff, nightly full backups take as little as forty seconds. All of this on a typical broadband connection over a thousand miles from the data center. Your first backup will take a bit longer because of your personal files, after your first backup full backups will happen in minutes or faster.

Full Backup

Hybir Backup backs up your Master Boot Record, system files, registry, applications, configurations, accounts, preferences, music, photos, documents, and any other files that happens to be on your computer. Hybir Backup runs automatically every day and saves a complete snapshot of what your computer looked like at that exact moment. You can see exactly what your computer looked like yesterday or four weeks ago.

Backups are Fine - Restores are divine

Browse through your backups in the innovative Restore Explorer. Restore single files, multiple files, entire directories, and full drives. All your files are immediately available to restore from anywhere you can connect your PC to the internet. The innovative restore will find only the files and parts of files that are different and put them back exactly how they were. By only restoring the differences Hybir Backup restores are faster too. Hybir Backup will also make sure you don't accidentally restore over a newer file. If it detects a file is different it will save a copy before replacing it. So, you can restore in full confidence.

Architecture of a Hybir Backup

Every Hybir Backup is the equivalent of a Full Backup at the speed of an incremental. First your hard drive or hard drives are quickly scanned. New and changed files are then analyzed, skipping caches, temporary files, and other files not necessary to restore your Windows PC. Hybir Backup builds a Backup Inventory that tracks everything needed to restore your PC and then sends the Backup Inventory to servers in our secure data center. The Backup Inventory is analyzed and it is determined what pieces of data are needed to complete the backup. The data that we don't already have is requested, and sent up by the Hybir Backup client. A backup is worthless if you can't restore it. That is why we take an extra step of validating each and every backup. Validation ensures that every piece of data is backup up at least twice in our data centers, only then is the backup complete. Giving you peace of mind...

You are in control

You can choose when Hybir Backup runs. You can easily choose to exclude a single file or full directories with one simple right click. On more recent computers you won't be able to tell that Hybir Backup is backing up your PC. You can continue using your PC while your backup is being completed. You can still pause or abort a backup at any time. You have complete control.

Security a bank would envy

We use the highest available level of the industry standard SSL encryption to transfer data which is higher than that in use by some banks and some military applications. Private Key Encryption using the government approved AES256 algorithm. Our servers are in major peering points which are some of the most secure data centers available. We also only run Hardened locked down Operating Systems on our backup servers.

Reliability has never been this good

Things go wrong. Hardware fails, software crashes, people make mistakes, and unfortunately computers get stolen. That is why you need backup, it is also why we completely over engineered Hybir Backup. We went to extraordinary steps to make sure your data is safe, secure and always available. We check to make sure that your data is exactly what it should be every step of the way. It takes longer and uses more server resources to do this, but it is the only way to make sure your data is safe. We also save multiple copies of each piece of data on multiple servers. This is way more expensive and way more reliable. We think it is worth it.
